This takes a little while to watch, but I think you will find it interesting...
...keep in mind the old saw - you can't oppose unless you propose something better. Brooks nails it (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/04/05/opinion/05brooks.html), but my comments are more about Ryan's proposal. This is a bold, courageous description of a market-oriented, pie-expanding vision for government by a free society. There are some legitimate criticisms I've seen (no one over age 55 is asked to share in the pain - which departs from the philosophical consistency of the rest of it by being a purely political consideration to the selfish fogies in our society), but this is an awfully compelling and complete vision for how to fix our country, restore competitiveness, and lead us out of the current morass. I'd be a proud citizen of a country that could put in practice a vision like this. The left is immediately apoplectic...
