Very interesting article.  Not a model I'd want to emulate without adjustment (and therefore maybe a stretch to label "superior"), but a very interesting story.

A letter of note...

From an emancipated slave to his former master, who had "invited" him to return to work on the plantation - at once inspiring, funny and satisfying (if also a harsh reminder of the plight of slaves).
